Question: Alternator keeps going out
I took my car to a shop. The alternator was not charging the battery. They put a new battery in the car, a new alternator. It was putting out 14 volts but then when they turned the car off and on again it was putting out 11. 6 different alternators were tried and the same thing keeps happening. Something is burning out the alternator, but, they can not find out why. They have given up and asked me to tow it to a ford dealer who charges 120 bucks an hour. Any suggestions?
